One of the primary ingredients of any kitchen countertop design is the sink. The various tasks performed at the sink make it the hardest working area in most kitchens. Due to this, some kitchens today have more than one. Incorporating the sink or sinks into the look, the placement and the function of the kitchen is paramount. Many styles and materials are used to make the modern kitchen sink, so the selection is a challenging but important design decision for the homeowner.
Porcelain, stainless steel and soapstone sinks of various shapes and sizes are favorites with our customers. An apron farm sink can compliment a traditional or historic look of some kitchen designs whereas a stainless steel sink may carry a more contemporary theme through the kitchen.
Sinks also vary in installation. There are drop-in sinks that are set on top of the counter, the under-mount which is set under the counter and the module type that have their own rim and edge such as a 'Blanco' sink that we have used often and like very much. |
