Our work with soapstone is by no means limited to countertops or the kitchen. We have used soapstone for hearths, vanities and more. We not only work with slabs but also 12" x 12" x ½" tiles for backsplashes, hearths and shower areas. Soapstone is nonporous and it is ideally suited for any wet areas such as tub and shower surrounds.
       Keep in mind soapstone won't burn or stain. Its heat retention qualities make it the perfect material around woodstoves and fireplaces.
